Cushing's Disease And It's Treatment For Dogs
Echinacea-Goldenseal – Enjoy A Healthier Winter!

‘Tis the Season for Tasty Treats… and Herbs for Your Liver!

If you’re like many of us, you may find yourself nibbling on the shortbread a wee bit much, or sipping a little too much eggnog over the holidays… These goodies sure taste great, but all that extra sugar, fat, and alcohol can put an even bigger load than usual upon our hardworking liver. What can you do to give your liver a holiday, too?

Herbs such as Milk Thistle, Licorice, Turmeric, Dandelion and Burdock are excellent choices for helping the liver in its major role of detoxification. They support the liver by strengthening production of enzymes that help us metabolize toxins and drugs (including alcohol). They also assist the liver with its other important functions including: protein synthesis; manufacturing bile for elimination of fat-soluble toxins; and synthesis of cholesterol for production of important steroidal hormones such as estrogen, progesterone, cortisol and others.

It’s the perfect time of the year to show your liver a little extra love!

How do you take care of your health during this time of year, when we often overindulge?
