All winter, our feet have been bundled and sequestered within dank socks, booties or other protective gear. But take heart … spring is in the air! Ladies, let’s celebrate by shedding our boots and letting the dogs out, giving our ten little puppies room to breathe. After months of hibernation, let’s give our toes some much needed attention with a long-overdue and well-deserved pedicure.
For some of us, just uttering the word “pedicure” can make our toes curl. Of the women who enter salons everyday for pedicures, a percentage exit with an unwanted visitor - fungus! Even the highest caliber salons can’t completely guarantee against fungal contamination. If you’re a victim, you’ll not realize it until your toes ache; by that time, it’s too late.
Fungi thrive in warm liquids, even in the wonderfully relaxing jetted tubs in which we soak our feet prior to pedicures. If these tubs aren’t properly and routinely cleaned, fungal contamination is likely to result! Don’t be afraid to ask a salon manager how the tubs are cleaned. Verify that the tubs are cleaned with bleach for at least 15 minutes daily.
Infections can also be spread if your nail technician isn’t using sanitary instruments. A simple solution is to bring along your own personal set of tools. Some salons may even store your set on-site, while others insist you bring your tools each time you visit.
If you’re feeling a bit put-off by all of these concerns, why not stay home and do it yourself? In addition to clipping your nails and trimming your cuticles, try a routine of using Life’s Abundance Revitalizing Clay Mask on your feet. Yes, your feet! Bring a comfy chair into your bathroom and apply the clay after cleaning and drying your feet. Just as when using the clay anywhere on your body, you can almost feel the impurities being drawn out of your feet as the clay dries and your skin tightens. Once you remove the clay, your feet will be as soft and smooth as a baby’s bottom.
Now it’s just a matter of selecting your favorite nail polish color, and soon you’ll be showing off your revitalized feet and toes. Summer, here we come!

The effectiveness of Sodium Bentonite Clay lies in its natural properties, described in detail below.
It has a negative charge. While toxins and other impurities carry a positive charge, Sodium Bentonite is negatively charged. The surface of the Sodium Bentonite Clay molecule is comprised of numerous microscopic platelets, just 1 to 2 microns in size, each with a negative electrical attraction for positively charged toxins. This creates a strong magnetic-like effect which draws toxins and impurities to the molecule’s surface and holds them there. These impurities are then carried away with the clay when it is removed, leaving behind skin that’s cleansed, refreshed and purified.
It is highly absorbent. Sodium Bentonite Clay is hydrophilic, which means that it has an affinity for water and is highly absorbent. In more simplistic terms, the structure of Sodium Bentonite is much like a sandwiched deck of cards. When placed in water, these cards or platelets shift apart or “swell”, creating a larger surface area with which to attract toxins and impurities. This unique characteristic enables Sodium Bentonite Clay to absorb 7 to 10 times its own weight in water and swell up to 18 times its dry volume. This is why Sodium Bentonite Clay is called a “swelling clay”. Its strong absorptive properties enhance its magnetic-like effect and make it even more effective in soaking up skin-choking toxins and impurities

Do you have a cosmetic “junk drawer” in your bathroom? You know, the one filled to the brim with enough makeup to beautify the entire Dallas Cowboy cheerleader squad! Somehow it’s difficult to bring ourselves to dispose of all the latest (or has been) styles that we have purchased over the years. They’re probably still good, right? However, in many cases, the answer is “wrong!”
Every time we use cosmetics, we expose our products to air, moisture and/or bacteria. Over time, the efficacy of the preservatives in cosmetics diminishes. As a result, cosmetics have the potential to become a breeding ground for bacteria. And when applied to the skin, cosmetics contaminated with bacteria could cause irritation, skin rashes or even worse – an infection!
The FDA does not require manufacturers to include an expiration date on most cosmetics. Yet, from the moment a cosmetic is opened, the effectiveness of the preservatives used in the product declines and the opportunity for bacteria to grow increases! So, how do you know when it’s safe to use it or when to toss it?
An unwritten guide is if it has a foul odor, is discolored or undergoes a change in texture, it needs to be deposited directly into the garbage. To increase the life of your cosmetics, always store them in a dry, cool place, keeping them tightly sealed.
When referring to shelf-life, these general rules of thumb apply to most cosmetics, regardless of brand:
Liquid Foundation – 3-6 months
Powder – 1 year (eye shadow, face powder, etc.)
Mascara – 3 months (or less if you “pump” the wand which allows air and bacteria inside)
Lipstick – 1 year
Eye Pencils – 1 year – To increase longevity, sharpen frequently to rid potential bacterial build-up. Never use eye makeup if you have an eye infection or irritation, as it may intensify the irritation and may spread an infection to an uninfected eye.
Fragrances – 3 years (cologne and perfume) - To keep your favorite smells fresher longer, try storing them in the refrigerator.
Lotions, Creams, Masks – 3 years – Separation or hardening of the product will be the first tell-tale sign that these types of products are nearing the end of their “lifespan”. Even though the FDA does not require cosmetics to have expiration dates, Life’s Abundance eliminates the guess work by marking every packet of Revitalizing Clay Mask with an expiration date, thus ensuring effectiveness and safety.
Finally, remember to never share your cosmetics. Sharing not only invites the possibility of exposing your cosmetics to new bacteria, but it also can spread bacteria to the person you’re sharing with, which increases the chances for irritation or infection.
Let’s go ladies and gentlemen, get in there and tackle those cosmetic drawers, and usher in a new year of better skin health!

Skin. It has been with you since before you were born. The largest organ of your body, your skin stretches as you grow and shrinks when you diet. But, most importantly – ages while you age! Here are four simple steps that you can take to keep your skin looking younger and feeling healthier:
Sun Protection – As we age, our skin is exposed to countless hours of sun. Constant, unprotected exposure can eventually result in what we commonly refer to as age spots. Ranging in all different sizes and shapes, these spots can appear on any area that has been exposed to the sun’s rays – your hands, arms, legs and, unfortunately, even your face. In order to decrease the risk of the appearance of these spots, you must protect your skin from the damaging rays of the sun. These rays come in two different wavelengths, UVA and UVB. UVB rays, while shorter than UVA, make our skin burn when overexposed. UVA rays, which penetrate deep into the skin’s layers, damage our collagen fibers … creating those dreaded wrinkles and leathery-looking skin. The best form of protection (besides staying indoors during daylight hours) is to use a broad-spectrum sunblock that protects against both UVA and UVB rays.
Moisturize - Not only do moisturizers make your skin feel soft and smooth, they also act as a “security blanket” for your skin. By using a moisturizer, you are giving your skin a temporary layer of protection that substitutes for lost collagen and elastin. Blanketing your skin with moisture helps to slow the progression and deepening of wrinkles. When looking for a moisturizer, be sure to take your skin type into consideration. Typically, moisturizers are made from two types of bases, oil-in-water and water-in-oil emulsions. Water-in-oil-based moisturizers tend to be thicker and greasier and ideal for hands or extreme dry skin. On the contrary, oil-in-water-based moisturizers are lighter and a much better choice for normal-to-oily skin. Be sure to check the label when choosing a moisturizer and select one that best matches your skin type and needs.
Cleanse – The single-most important thing that you can do for your skin every night is to remove the day’s pollutants. Skipping this process too often could result in breakouts or dull skin. Start by removing your makeup with lukewarm water and a mild facial cleanser. TIP: Avoid using soap and hot water as they will only dry out your skin. Once clean, use a gentle exfoliant like Life’s Abundance Revitalizing Clay Mask. Exfoliating removes dead skin cells and unclogs pores. A clogged pore could easily turn into a blemish like a pimple or blackhead. Life’s Abundance Revitalizing Clay Mask is a soothing clay that firms and exfoliates, drawing out trapped impurities and toxins for cleaner, more breathable skin. This gentle clay is ideal for women, men and teens with all skin types.
Rest – Mom is always right. You need your beauty sleep! While sleeping, your body produces melatonin, which is recognized by some as an anti-aging hormone. This hormone is great for both the skin and the immune system. Melatonin is depleted during the daylight hours, however, at night your body replenishes its supply. Studies also show that during deep sleep, a growth hormone is produced which repairs cell damage and cell turnover is eight times faster at night. In order to enjoy a full night of beauty rest, try incorporating these simple habits into your nightly routine:
In order to slow down the effects of the overall aging process, we need to take excellent care of our skin and provide it with as much protection as it provides us.

What is Volcanic Ash Clay?
Many years ago, a chain of volcanoes stretched from Mexico to southern Canada. Their powerful eruptions produced tiny cinders and dust-sized particles that billowed high into the sky and were carried eastward by the wind. As this volcanic “ash” descended back to the Earth, it settled into the Mowry Sea, a shallow, stagnant body of water which once occupied the central United States. There, the minerals in the volcanic ash reacted with elements of the salt water, forming a substance known as montmorillonite. Montmorillonite is commonly known today as Sodium Bentonite Clay
Over the years, Sodium Bentonite Clay beds became buried by deep, dense layers of silica and mud. In time, however, natural erosion caused the Bentonite layers to be re-exposed, allowing Volcanic Ash Clay to at last be discovered by man. Humankind has long embraced the health and cosmetic benefits of Volcanic Ash Clay. The first evidence of its therapeutic use was found in Mesopotamia around 2500 B.C. The ancient tribes of central Africa, North American Indians, and the spiritual leader Mahatma Gandhi all praised clay for a multitude of uses. Even Cleopatra, the Egyptian queen, used Volcanic Ash Clay as part of her daily beauty regimen.
Today, Volcanic Ash Clay is the best-kept secret of most elite health and beauty spas in the world. When applied to the skin’s surface, this soothing clay firms and exfoliates, resulting in a revitalized and more youthful-looking complexion. It also has the unique ability to draw out toxins and impurities that are embedded deep within the skin’s pores.
Although costly Volcanic Ash Clay masks used to be available only to the privileged few who could afford them, Life’s Abundance now brings you a unique new line of Volcanic Ash Clay skincare masks that you can enjoy in the comfort and privacy of your own home.
What kind of Volcanic Ash Clay is used in Revitalizing Clay Mask?
The clay used in Revitalizing Clay Mask is Sodium Bentonite Clay, a special type of Bentonite Clay known for its ability to absorb impurities better than any other type of clay. Sodium Bentonite Clay is often referred to as a “living clay,” which means that it is considered safe for ingestion for humans, animals and plants (although we certainly don’t recommend that you eat our products!).
The Sodium Bentonite Clay used in the exclusive Revitalizing Clay Mask formula originates from the western United States in an area between the Black Hills of South Dakota and the Big Horn Basin of Wyoming. It was named by American geologist John Pascal shortly after its discovery in 1890. Wyoming Bentonite is believed to originate from the activity of island volcanoes that existed in the modern-day Idaho region.
What is the quality of the Sodium Bentonite Clay used in Revitalizing Clay Mask?
The Sodium Bentonite Clay used in Revitalizing Clay Mask is USP-NF grade, which assures that the product has met rigorously high standards of quality. It is also considered pharmaceutical grade.
If I have oily or dry skin, can I use Revitalizing Clay Mask?
Yes, it is ideal for all skin types.

Healthy hair is not only a pleasure to behold; it is pleasing to the person that has it. A single follicle on the human scalp produces approximately .35 millimeters of hair shaft per day. The cycles of growth of each follicle consist of the building up and tearing down of the structure. After a period of rest the follicle is built anew from raw materials and each hair follicle goes through this identical process as it grows longer and stronger. Nzuri, a high-quality liquid multivitamin hair tonic supplies the body with the proper vitamins, amino acids, and minerals that you may not be receiving in your diet to help create beautiful, healthy hair.
It is important to point out that many of the metabolic requirements of the cells of the hair follicle must be met or adequate and optimal hair growth will not occur. This means that certain vitamins and minerals must be present in adequate proportions or there will be faulty or nonexistent hair growth. Research has shown that in our hurry up world of fast food, and extreme work schedules we have developed extraordinarily poor eating habits. This extremely poor diet affecting our general health and energy levels and makes our fingernails weaker and our hair thinner and far less healthier.
Along with stress, toxins in the environment, exposure to the sun, cigarette smoke (actively or passively inhaled), excess alcohol consumption and lack of sleep sometimes makes our bodies work overtime to maintain a standard of marginal health - not optimal.
These factors may lead to a decline in our cosmetic appearance, including our hair, being compromised and weakened. Because the brain considers our hair to be expendable and not essential to maintain our health, at least our physical health, it tends to be the last part of the body to receive nutrients from the foods we eat.
The result of this is dull, lifeless hair, or even retarded (slowed) hair growth. What should enhance our best features has become a deterrent to our beauty as individuals and the way others possibly perceive our health and how attractive we appear to them. This does not have to be so. Remember, people subconsciously use triggers like how healthy your face or hair is to make a subconscious judgment about your overall health.
Taking proper, daily hair vitamins and minerals plays a huge role in keeping your hair healthy. Any nutritional deficiencies can lead to thinning hair or even total baldness. It is a well-known fact that an under-active thyroid can result in frizzy or brittle hair while an overactive thyroid turns hair greasy and limp. The goal is proper supplementation and nutritional balance.
In an older person the total number of the capillary loops (blood source) supplying the hair follicles is considerably diminished. This diminution (reduction) of blood supplied to the hair follicle would require either greater blood flow through these follicles or an increased amount of nutrients of various types such as vitamins, minerals and amino acids in order to supple the hair follicle with the same amount of these materials.
Since the former is unlikely, as blood vessels are decreasing instead of increasing, it appears that the latter course, mainly supplying more nutrients, would be the most logical way to keep the hair follicle in its younger state.
Any nutritional deficiencies can slow hair growth or stop your hair from growing. Your hair ultimately reflects the overall condition of your body.
If your body is healthy and well-nourished, your hair will be your shining glory. If you are having any health problems or suffering from any nutritional deficiencies, your hair may stop growing or show damage or become brittle. If your body is in good health, you can maximize your genetic growth cycle through taking the proper blend of amino acids and B-vitamins.
It is also important to include B-6, biotin, inositol and folic acid in the supplemental program. It has been found that certain minerals including magnesium, sulfur, silica and zinc are also very important toward maintaining healthy hair.
Beta-carotene is also important to hair growth because beta-carotene is converted to vitamin A as the body needs it, helps maintain normal growth and bone development, protective sheathing around nerve fibers, as well as promoting healthy skin, hair and nails! Nzuri has all of these ingredients and much more. Besides making lifestyle changes, taking Nzuri every day is recommended to boost your hair growth
Most multivitamins are just that - vitamins - and not much else. Just as your body needs vitamins, minerals, proteins, a little bit of fat, sugar, carbohydrates, enzymes and more to properly function, why would you take a multivitamin that only contained vitamins and a few scant minerals?
For proper hair growth, you need to take a multi-nutrient formula that contains nutrients, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, whole food extracts, plant enzymes, and herbal extracts all in a single easy to take dose instead.
The most important criteria is the form, followed by the dose size. Pills simply are not the best answer. Pills contain vitamins that are bound to many fillers and stabilizers. Pure liquid hair vitamins are simply a suspension of ingredients, without wasteful binders and fillers.
This leads to far greater absorption, more relief, less waste and much better results. Take the Physicians Desk Reference for example. They state that liquids are up to 98% absorbed versus just 10 to 20% of vitamins and minerals in solid form. Try getting that with pills, tablets or powders. You simply can't.

Popular shampoos contain toxic chemicals linked to nerve damage by Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, NaturalNews Editor
Researchers at the National Institutes of Health have found a correlation between an ingredient found in shampoos and nervous system damage. The experiments were conducted with the brain cells of rats and they show that contact with this ingredient called methylisothiazoline, or MIT, causes neurological damage.
Which products contain this chemical compound MIT? Head and Shoulders, Suave, Clairol and Pantene Hair Conditioner all contain this ingredient. Researchers are concerned that exposure to this chemical by pregnant women could put their fetus at risk for abnormal brain development. In other people, exposure could also be a factor in the development of Alzheimer's disease and other nervous system disorders.
The chemical causes these effects by preventing communication between neurons. Essentially, it slows the networking of neurons, and since the nervous system and brain function on a system of neural networks, the slowing of this network will suppress and impair the normal function of the brain and nervous system.
These finding were presented December 5th at the American Society for Cell Biology annual meeting. I have frequently warned readers about the dangers of using brand-name personal care products. The vast majority of these products contain toxic chemical compounds like MIT that contribute to cancer, liver disorders and neurological diseases. In fact, this chemical, MIT, is just one of dozens of such chemicals that are found in personal care products.
Why are these dangerous personal care products allowed to remain on the market? Because the FDA, which is responsible for regulating these products, spends almost no time, money or effort actually investigating the safety of such products. Instead, the FDA spends the vast majority of its time approving new prescription drugs rather than protecting the public against the dangers from such drugs or personal care products like shampoos, soaps, and fragrance products.
In fact, it may surprise you to learn that manufacturers can put practically any chemical they want into shampoos, even if it is a hazardous chemical listed in the RTECS database of toxicity and even if it is considered a toxic waste chemical by the EPA. The FDA allows all sorts of chemicals to be used in these products, including chemicals that are known carcinogens and that contribute to liver failure and nervous system disorders. How's that for protecting public health?
If you thought prescription drugs were dangerous, just take a look at the toxic chemicals found in personal care products used by virtually all Americans every single day. Americans bathe themselves in toxic chemicals and they do it by buying and using products made by brand name companies that have premier shelf positioning at convenience stores, grocery stores and discount clubs.
One of the more curious personal care products on the market is Herbal Essences Shampoo by Clairol. Personally, I think this product is a joke because it's trying to exploit the word "herbal" to imply that the shampoo is healthy, even though it is primarily made with the same ingredients as other popular shampoos. The first three ingredients, for example, are: water, sodium laureth, and sodium lauryl sulfate. Big deal, huh? You can find the same three ingredients in 99-cent shampoo at Wal-Mart. Plus, the product contains all sorts of other ingredients that I personally would never allow to touch my skin (like methylchloroisothiazolinone, if you can believe there's actually a chemical with a name that long). Think the color of the shampoo is from the herbs? Think again. Three other ingredients in the shampoo are Orange #4 and Violet #2.
In other words, this is a shampoo product purchased by naive consumers, in my opinion. People who really know herbs and natural products can only laugh at a product like this. Want a real shampoo? Buy Olive Oil Shampoo from Heritage Products, available at most natural health stores.
The bottom line to all of this, though, is that every week, it seems like we see a new announcement about some toxic chemical found in personal care products that is related to either cancer or neurological disorders. And yet week after week these products are being sold by retailers and consumed in large quantities by the American people who remain oblivious to the real damage these products are causing to their health.
Once again, the solution here is to protect yourself by learning the truth about these products and switching to products made with safe ingredients. There are safe shampoos, safe soaps, safe laundry detergents, dishwashing liquids and even deodorant products. You don't have to expose yourself to toxic chemicals to take care of personal hygiene, because whether you agree with it or not, these disease-causing chemicals are going to remain quite legal in the use of personal care products for many years to come. Why? You can bet that the manufacturers of these products will fight against any attempt to regulate or outlaw these toxic chemicals. That's because the chemicals are convenient for such manufacturers. It's much the same way in which food manufacturers use sodium nitrate in bacon and other packaged meats. It's all about their convenience rather than protecting your health.
So, here's the idiot test for today: if I was standing on a street corner with a bottle of colored liquid, and I told you that liquid contained a toxic chemical that caused neurological disorders, Alzheimer's disease and birth defects, would you buy that product from me and scrub it into your scalp under warm water?
Of course not. But if you're buying these popular shampoo products, that's exactly what you're doing right now. Such is the power of brand marketing in America.

In persistent cases of acne that do not respond to topical treatment, an antibiotic alternative is usually exercised by doctors. An antibiotic is a drug, synthetic or natural, that kills bacterial proteins while inhibiting bacterial growth alongside.
If it was limited to this action, antibiotics would be the most preferred treatment for numerous bacterial disorders including acne. However, antibiotics cannot differentiate between bacterial proteins and cellular proteins that are part of the body cells. And this is what causes the negative effects of antibiotics, commonly known as side effects.
Tetracycline is the most common and the first-use antibiotic for acne. It is a broad spectrum antibiotic and also the least expensive. Tetracycline and its derivative, Doxycycline, are taken on an empty stomach or at least two to three hours after meals as food restricts absorption of the drug. Minocycline, another tetracycline derivative, on the other hand is easily absorbed and can be taken with food.
Tetracycline has the least side effects. But over time, there has been an increased antibiotic resistance towards the drug and it does not seem to work as well these days. This necessitated the development of its derivatives. Doxycycline makes the skin sensitive to sun requiring sun protection every time you go out. Both the derivatives also tend to cause gastrointestinal problems.
Erythromycin is a microlide antibiotic with an antimicrobial spectrum that is wider than that of penicillin. It acts on the protein synthesis of bacteria and slows bacterial growth. The gastrointestinal upsets like diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain that it can cause are extremely disturbing.
Taken over long periods some antibiotics may cause toxicity including liver toxicity. These antibiotics should also not be ingested during pregnancy. Some antihistamines and antacids may interact with other antibiotics making it imperative to consult a doctor. On the other hand, herbal antibiotics such as garlic, aloe and fruit based mild acids do not have any side effects.
Acne affects two third of all adolescents one time or the other and a considerable proportion of adults as well. An oily skin or a bacterial invasion on a sensitive area is the main causes behind the outbreak. Topical creams do not have the same effect on every one due to difference in types of skin. The urgency for seeking treatment is obvious since if not capped immediately, the infection can spread over a larger area.
Acne is an inflammatory disorder of the skin. The approach to acne treatment may either be direct or indirect. Topical ointments and drugs form the major part of the direct treatment modalities. There is a strong belief that the hormonal changes that occur at puberty are responsible for occurrence of acne.
When the level of testosterone increases the body secretes hormone like substances to fight the inflammation caused by it. Immune system health and acne are thus interrelated and a strong immune system can effectively prevent acne. A healthy lifestyle that avoids junk food, regular exercise and herbs for strengthening immune system are natural means of preventing and fighting acne.

We've all heard that the US is in the midst of an epidemic of obesity - and when we look around at the mall or a sporting event, it'd be hard to disagree. What is NOT very clear or evident is that many of the very products we use for skin care, personal care and hair care have ingredients in them that are hormone disruptors, carcinogens, or affect our ability to think clearly. Most importantly, the way they impact our bodies make us prone to gain weight.
Several studies conclusively connect ingredients in the skin and hair care we use to the obesity epidemic. For example, according to the Cosmetic Data Base, hormone disruptors can cause mood swings, elevate hunger or cravings, and impact our ability to make lifestyle changes necessary to eliminate weight gain. Even the Weight Watchers Organization communicates the message that toxins in skin care causing weight GAIN.
The Essante Worlwide team is working hard to deliver clean, safe, Natural Essante Organics products as complements to our existing weight management Pops. The opportunity to provide you with the best natural, organic products along with the best compensation plan AND on-going training events is what makes Essante Worldwide the best overall direct Marketing Firm! Toxins and Obesity
Chemical Toxins Contribute To Obesity Epidemic, Suggests Researcher in The Journal of Alternative & Complementary Medicine
Business Wire
(Copyright (c) 2002, Business Wire)
LARCHMONT, N.Y.--(BW HealthWire)--April 22, 2002--Human exposure to toxic chemicals may have damaged many of the body's natural weight-control mechanisms and may play a significant role in the global obesity epidemic, according to a new study reported in the April 2002 (Volume 8, Number 2) issue of The Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine, a peer-reviewed journal published by Mary Ann Liebert, Inc. (www.liebertpub.com).
In "Chemical Toxins: A Hypothesis to Explain the Global Obesity Epidemic," author Paula F. Baillie-Hamilton, M.B., B.S., D.Phil., explains why genetic factors, overeating, and inactivity are not sufficient to explain the recent obesity epidemic and provides support for her hypothesis that environmental causes are largely responsible. The paper may be viewed free online at www.liebertpub.com/acm.
"My hypothesis explains for the first time why conventional dieting as we know it simply doesn't work, as simple food restriction fails to address what I believe to be the main causes underlying excessive weight gains," says Dr. Baillie-Hamilton, who is affiliated with the Occupational and Environmental Health Research Group at Stirling University, in Scotland. "It is imperative to find out whether Dr. Baillie-Hamilton is right or not," says Journal Editor Kim A. Jobst, M.A., D.M. "If not, then rapidly we can move on to examine more ideas and potential solutions. If she is right, then there are measures that must be taken, work that must be done, and changes that must be made that are so far-reaching as to be politically, socially, and academically awesome."
Humans are exposed to tens of thousands of potentially harmful synthetic organic and inorganic chemicals in their daily lives, in the form of pesticides, dyes, pigments, perfumes, flavorings, and other products. ((NOTE: All of these are contained in most cosmetics. Many of these are in a propylene glycol base, which is a useful solvent for creating a liquid form. The PG is suspected of contributing to their penetration.)) At relatively low levels of exposure, these chemicals may promote weight gain, contends Dr. Baillie-Hamilton, by altering metabolic functions in the body. Although genetically based mechanisms regulate body weight, keeping it at a predetermined level or "set point," factors such as chemical toxins that affect the functioning of hormones, neurotransmitters, and other metabolic control mechanisms, may upset this delicate balance.
The Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine is a peer-reviewed journal published bimonthly in print and online that covers current concepts in clinical care, including case reports that are valuable for healthcare professionals and scientists who are seeking to evaluate and integrate these therapies into patient care protocols and research strategies. Some of the key treatment options featured are: herbal medicine, nutritional and vitamin therapies, acupuncture, mind-body medicine, Chinese medicine, homeopathy, subtle energies, osteopathy, chiropractic, ayureda, and much more.

“I had used products before during pregnancy that were supposed to diminish my stretch marks, and they didn't work. So I put Clay Essentials on my thighs and upper leg area where I had stretch marks from having my last baby. Even with just three or four applications, I noticed those lines looked like they were starting to disappear. It also made my skin so much smoother. I highly recommend Clay Essentials to all of those women out there looking for a product that really does improve the look of stretch marks!”
--Reinalyn A., Jensen Beach, FL
"I've been in the cosmetic industry for years and I’m always looking for natural products. I was introduced to Clay Essentials by my son, who came over and urged me to try it. I decided to give it a shot, and to my amazement, my skin felt so tight, smooth, and soft afterwards—I was ready to go out on the town! I was very impressed. I prefer Clay Essentials to the product I had been using and would recommend it to anybody.”
--Pat A., Jensen Beach, FL
"After 10 years in the landscape business, you get a lot of sun damage; my skin felt like leather. I had always thought clay masques were just for women, but after trying Clay Essentials once, wow—what a difference! I really love that my skin feels so soft, smooth and fresh—the best it has felt in a decade. People are already telling me I look five years younger. What more could I ask for?”
-- Bob A., Jensen Beach, FL
"I'm 55 years old and have had problems with age spots. After using Clay Essentials for a couple of weeks, I'm really starting to see them fade. I've used the Eye & Lip Masque as well, and I’ve noticed that the wrinkles on my upper lip are softening and look like they’re disappearing. Over the years, I've spent an awful lot of money on high-priced cosmetics—especially skin care products. But I’ve found that with Clay Essentials, it doesn't cost as much, and I'm getting better results!"
--Linda L. Port St. Lucie, FL
"I'm an aesthetician and I work with plastic surgeons. I want to see results, and that's what you'll get with Clay Essentials. It's impressive to have a product where you actually see skin improvements after one application—I would definitely call Clay Essentials a ‘miracle clay’! Great price—great results!”

In over 30 years of work in the pet food industry, I have encountered hundreds, if not thousands, of products not only for pets, but for humans, too. And in all that time, I have never endorsed a product before … until now. I would like to take this opportunity to introduce you to a product that I did not formulate, but I now wholeheartedly recommend to you and the human members of your family.
Trilogy International, the parent company of HealthyPetNet, has created an exciting new line of skin care products. Using ancient the secrets of Mesopotamia and Native Americans, Trilogy has developed a ground-breaking product line guaranteed to cause head-turning results – Clay Essentials Skincare. Most of us associate clay masques and full-body treatment with exclusive health and beauty spas. One of the things I like best about these products is the accessibility – you get many, many treatments at a price most of us can afford – just a few dollars per masque or body treatment!
You may be asking yourself, “Why is a veterinarian recommending this product?” I’ll tell you why. I’m a consumer just like you, and I love the way it has helped my skin to look. Not only that, but I enjoy helping people, just like I love helping animals. And most of us are concerned with our appearances, and we want to look our best. Whether it is wrinkles, blemishes or cellulite, this product can help you. I have seen a remarkable difference in just a couple of applications. And, as a professional product formulator with a keen interest in natural products, this is one of the most amazing products I have seen! It’s straight from the earth, purified for your use and then mixed with essential oils and botanicals … what could be more natural than that? This wonderful product from the earth does so much to detoxify your skin, and as a consequence beautifies your overall appearance!
As a holistic practitioner, you know that I’m very concerned about not only what goes on inside the body, but also the effects the environment has on the body from the outside in, too. Most of us don’t think about the fact that we frequently bombarded by pollutants that linger in the air that we breathe and the water that we drink. These toxins build up in our bodies, especially in our largest organ of all – our skin! Clay Essentials products actually detoxify the skin, bringing undesirable elements to the surface of the skin, thus unclogging pores and making it healthier, naturally.
So, now you know that volcanic ash clay is absorptive and can cleanse the skin. But did you know that applying it can be a serene and calming experience? Few things are more relaxing than the purification of the body, especially when you create a soothing environment for your cleansing. Be sure to check out the tranquil tunes and empowering messages offered on the Enhance Your Spa Experience CD. This collection of enchanting melodies, combined with inspiring affirmations by Certified Hypnotist and Hypnosis Trainer Rosemarie Schulman, R.N, B.A, C.H., C.I., facilitate deep relaxation, encourage positive thoughts and allow you to focus on achieving the flawless, glowing skin you desire. Beyond enhancing your results, this unique CD gives you the rare opportunity to unwind and bring balance and harmony to your soul. Your dog or cat may even enjoy this musical experience with you (but don’t let them ingest any of the products!).
If you have a child suffering the embarrassments of blemishes or other common types of problem skin, you should know that Clay Essentials can help. I have seen it myself – young people consumed by worry over how their faces look, only to find real relief with the use of clay masques every two or three days. But don’t worry, it won’t dry out the skin with harsh chemicals like many popular blemish treatments. And many of our customers report an increase in self-confidence after their skin improves!
From a scientific standpoint, you have to understand the primary ingredient of Clay Essentials, which is Sodium Bentonite. While toxins, harmful bacteria and other impurities carry a positive charge, this special mixture is negatively charged. The surface of the Sodium Bentonite molecule is covered with negatively charged microscopic platelets, thus attracting positively charged toxins and impurities. This creates a strong effect, bringing toxins and impurities to the molecule’s surface, like a magnet. These impurities are then wiped away with the clay when it is removed, leaving behind skin that is cleansed, refreshed and free from impurities.
I’m excited for you to see for yourself the remarkable benefits you can achieve with Clay Essentials. If you’re interested in looking younger and fresher, and feeling better about your appearance, give Clay Essentials a try. Like all of Trilogy’s products, it’s backed by a full guarantee for the cost of the product. If you have any questions about this exciting new product, be sure to watch the Clay Essentials video online.
So take my advice and open yourself to a new and refreshing experience. I know you’ll love Clay Essentials just as much as I do!
Best wishes,
Dr. Jane Bicks

How is Sodium Bentonite Clay different from other clays and what makes it so effective in purifying the skin?
The effectiveness of Sodium Bentonite Clay lies in its natural properties, described in detail below.
It has a negative charge. While toxins, harmful bacteria and other impurities carry a positive charge, Sodium Bentonite is negatively charged. Moreover, the microscopic size of Sodium Bentonite molecules enables the clay to easily penetrate the pores of the skin, where it acts as a delivery system for essential nutrients and moisture.
Its strong absorptive properties enhance its magnetic-like effect and make it even more effective in soaking up skin-choking toxins and impurities.

**Clay Essentials is Pharmaceutical Grade. USP-NF (United States Pharmacopeia- National Formulary) grade - assures it has met rigourously high standards of quaolity and is suitable for pharmeceutical applications.
**Clay Essentials is not sun-dried because sun-dried clay is exposed to the elements which can result in bacterial contamination. Instead, it is put through a special drier.
**Clay Essentials is manufactured in a state of the art manufacturing company used to make some of the most exclusive, expensive produncts in the world, in business for 25 years consistently produced in a controlled environment.
**Clay Essentials, includes the ingredient Kaolin, ideal for all skin types, and used to further enhance the deep detoxifying effects of Sodium Bentonite.
** Clay Essentials is actually not expensive! It is less than $1 per treatment.
** Clay Essentials has Sodium bentonite which has better detoxifying ability. Others are usually Calcium bentonite clays.
** Many processing plants do not monitor their equipment and may also have mechanical processing equipment that contains lead working parts that can contaminate the end product. This is why pharmaceutical grade is very important. Cheaper clays cannot be that pure as it is the testing and the high tech equipment that cost a lot of money and the people that must be hired to make sure the process is done properly and the equipment is used properly. If a company was actually doing the better processes and hiring these trained and qualified people, it would have to be reflected in the cost.
